During a recent visit to France I read in a local newspaper that more than 25% of the people still make use of road maps next to their reliable GPS systems, simply because of the joy it gives to check out your itineray on an old fashioned map. I am one ot those people who still uses a map. I have always been fond of maps. Maps can tell you a lot about a place, and they can be a tangible reminder of a great trip to a certain place or even of your hometown.
When I came to the Netherlands, I fell in love with Amsterdam, and since then my love for the city has only grown: I have become a real Amsterdammer and both parts of my blog name Frenchonista in Amsterdam are equally important to me. So you can imagine that I was very happy with this gift I received the other day: a decorative wall map piece of Amsterdam , which does not only show all the landmarks of this wonderful city, but is a true piece of art and looks great on the wall of my appartment as well.
In love with another place? The people at Modern Map Art offer an impressive collection of city maps, but it will be hard to beat Amsterdam of course!
