We’ve talked about this before and we can’t say it often enough: 5&33 in the Art’otel Amsterdam is a beautiful and stylish restaurant, not to mention the fact that you can plan your night out all in one place, because their cocktail bar is amazing too (my favorite is still the Holy Viagra with fresh chilly).
It’s hard to find a good and real Italian restaurant in Amsterdam, really hard. I have lived in Italy so I know what I’m talking about. 5&33 imports the best things directly from “The Old Country” and has a great chef in Mattia Pedroni. I had the pleasure to dine there again last week, this time with some italian friends including a member of the Accademia Italiana della Cucina in the Netherlands. He confirmed what I already knew: The food is great and is only enhanced by the excellent service of everyone working at 5&33. Restaurant manager Fabio M. was the kindest host and made us feel taken care of every step of the way.
We were served meat cuts (salumi) that were just to die for; they literally melted on our tongues. There was the amazing Burrata (fresh italian cheese made from mozzarella and cream), the fish, the meat, the pasta….it just goes on and on and everything is fresh and prepared with love and care, including the home made bread.
5&33 is a place to which I will keep bringing friends and will keep recommending for business dinners and even a romantic evening out and I would urge everyone to do the same (I can’t NOT share my experience although secretly I’d like to keep it all to myself). Chapeau!

The pictures are not great quality but at least we are not lying on how great 5&33 is! 😉
