If you, like us, are a lover of daring niche perfumes, you must have heard of Mark Buxton. He has collaborated with numerous great brands such as, just to name a few, Comme des Garcons, Le Labo, Perfumes Barcelona, Givenchi and Versace. He was the brilliant mind behind the scent created for one of my favourite movies, “The Grand Budapest Hotel”. The perfume, “L’air de Panache”, had a predominant role of its own in the movie and at the time I thought it was entirely fictional. Fact is, it was real, and the movie became even more of a legend in my eyes.
Since 2008 Mark Buxton has his own Perfume Collection of which quite a few are on our wish list, and Samia has had the pleasure and honour of meeting him in person (your writer is jealous!). He now created 3 scented candles which are just the olfactory master pieces we would expect from him. They are “Leather & Lily”, “Vetiver & Magnolia”, and, the one Samia is lucky enough to own, “Gaiac & Violet”. Their exquisite scents linger on long after the candle has been put out and fill the house with a perfume that can almost be described as an extra piece of furniture you’d never want to do without.
We really encourage you to read more at markbuxton.com and if you want to purchase the candle in a shop, Babassu has them in their collection!
